我一个自以为写得不错的 也拿到了"competitive"
但很早、很早就被拒了
我在想 如果这个PD正好对我的topic感兴趣
是不是至少会犹豫犹豫 帮着找找钱?

应该是第一批被拒的吧
虽然现在钱难拿 也没必要拒的这个干脆利落吧
我知道这种边缘的proposal 完全看PD的口味了
所以 现在投之前想陶瓷 但又不知道proposal会到谁手里

我认识的人不多 但认识的人拿到的 都是跟PD有多多少少关系的
所以我才紧张 如何去给PD溜须拍马、拉关系
现实就是如此
除了极少数特别牛的
其实拿到Career真比没拿到的强哪里?

发帖数: 883 | 8 一般一个PD管一个方向吧，至少CISE是这样。
对准了这个方向写就大概率到这个PD的手上了。当然也有例外，比如突然换人了，或者
PD弄不过来交给了别人。但是基本差不多。
CAREER最大的问题是一定要对准一个PD的方向，如果写的方向含含糊糊，或者是交叉的
，就很难中。

这让我非常困惑 现在发邮件陶瓷 都不知道给谁发

competitive compared to general panels (at least true for many panels).
Reviewers are looking at different things for these panels. If you can get a
lot of grants from normal panels, who cares about if you cannot get Career?
Not knowing PD or not discussing with PD is just fine for Career or other
proposals (my own experiences). Of course, doing that will not hurt. But I
feel it is not as critical as people think. So, please don't overthink and
just give your best shot. Spend some extra efforts on educational/outreach
plans and try to gain sufficient support for your career growth from your
department.

发帖数: 883 | 11 至少我去过的Panel都会把所有proposal一一排名。即使是competitive，早早被拒一般
都是在competitive里面排名比较靠后的。
