with, consciously or unconsciously.
Simple first rule -- stick with different shades of red, from deep bloody
red to darker burgundy red, but not on the pink side. For some reason, the
color red gets our blood flowing (and it applies to your lip color too).
Other neutral colors, such as different shades of cream, would also work if
the painting is done meticulously. French manicure also works very well.
However, we don't like fake nails, because they look too fake. Also, fake
nails remind me of the damaged, superglued real nails underneath. Most of
us guys have dealt with superglue in the past, and it's just a nasty thought.
Black is a risky choice, but if done right it can be a very sexy look. I
don't think black would look very attractive on hands, but I have seen a
woman pulling it off on her toes with a pair of black peeptoe pumps -- it
made me immediately think how wild she could be in bed. Bottom line is,
black nail polish needs additional black color close by as a sort of "echo"
to work well. Black by itself (for example, only on your fingers) looks out
of place.
We could care less about fancy patterned nail jobs. They actually fall into
the same category with crazy bags. Intuitively we think women who have
crazy pedi-mani jobs desperately need attention (read "psychotic"), and that
makes us run away.

different. For open toe black shoes in the office, black toe nails look less
flirtatious. after all, we do want to be taken seriously in office.

专门做过调查（因为他们做相关产品的），调查对象20-37中产男性，有一项就是红色
指甲油，我记得大概60-70%的人（具体数值在这中间吧，记不清了）不喜欢任何一种红
色指甲油的（大概就是说相比其他颜色看到红的更容易turn off）。当时我还挺shock

matching.
A person's complexion and hair color determine two fundamental elements --
the contrast level and basic color tone. And higher contrast is always
better.
As Asians we benefit from the black hair -- the best color you can get for
creating a high contrast. However, depending on the complexion, when
combined with the black hair, different skin tones can result in different
contrast levels. A fair skin with black hair creates the highest contrast
possible (see Liz Taylor and Sophia Loren's pics below).
On the contrary, if one's skin tone is darker/brownish, black hair doesn't
work that well. Proper coloring would help create a better contrast.
Now regarding your comment about the blue undertone not working with dark
skin -- you are absolutely right. A brighter red (a tad yellow, or a creamy
shade) would lighten up the skin color.
As to brown, it's hard to say without seeing the actual color of the polish
and skin.

to your skin. If you still want to look good when you turn 40 or 50, stay
out of the sun.
It's not worth it to damage your skin for the sake of a few guys' personal
taste. Instead, find a good make-up recipe (the right foundation, lipstick,
eye shades, etc.) to take advantage of your naturally fair complexion.
