Question:
If you've spent a good amount of time fishing the run I'm sure you've seen
guys that just hammer them, and I'm not talking snagging, while people
fishing all around them struggle to catch any. I have a couple friends that
I fish with that can't seem to grasp the technique or maybe they can't
aquire the feel.I've rigged them up with the same rig I use and even let
them use my rod after they told me that the rod must be the difference.
Anyhow, can a guy that's catchin fish hook a fish and hand the rod to his
friend to land and keep the fish without breaking the law?I don't want to
get flamed by the boaters,but I know the guys with a limit in boats on the
lake don't throw their fish back when the limit for the boat hasn't been
caught.
Answer:
last year at ford st, there was a dnr officer sitting in the pile of sticks
right next to the river with a spotting scope. my step dad was having a hard
time and i walked up and asked the officer the question " can i hook a fish
and pass my rod to him so he can keep some fish?" he said " yes as long as
you don't reel it in to a foot in front of you before you hand it to him."
so i said " Ok so if i hook 1 way out there hand him my rod and he reels it
in, then its Ok to put that fish on the stringer?" right as i'm asking
another dnr officer walks up and hears me as well. at the same time they
both say "yes". did it three times for my step dad right in front of them.
no tickets no hassels. hope this helps
