of lures. Actually salmon rod for surfing is very popular in North Cal. But
if you gonna fishing at some tough place like MTK, I don't recommend.
Just remember to buy spinning instead of baitcasting

can you tell us more why you don't recommend a baitcasting rod for surfing?
the reason I want to buy a baitcasting rod contain:
1) strong fighting
2) casting further
3) lighter weight for the rod and reel
