the school's football program.
Stanford announced Tuesday an anonymous donor had endowed the position of
offensive coordinator in honor of the former quarterback.
The position currently held by Pep Hamilton will now be known as the Andrew
Luck Director of Offense.
Endowing positions in the Stanford athletic department is common practice,
but is usually reserved for head coaches and the athletics director. The
official title of Cardinal coach David Shaw is the Bradford M. Freeman
Director of Football.
"It is a huge tribute," Luck said in a statement. "To have anything endowed
in my name is a complete honor. I feel very fortunate to have come to
Stanford, and I have always enjoyed representing the University. The
offensive coordinators I've had here helped me not only in football, but
also to grow so much as a person. To be a part of that leadership and
position is a very proud legacy for me."
Luck left school after his junior season with a school-record 82 touchdown
passes and as the all-time leader in total offense with 10,387 yards. He
finished second in the Heisman in 2010 and 2011, while leading the school to
consecutive BCS bowl appearances.
Luck was taken with the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft last month by the
Indianapolis Colts. |

诸如Peyton Manning Offensive Coordinator.更不用说用刚毕业的学生命名了。

好像很少听说卖这种命名权的吧？我知道有什么什么教授，什么什么学院，从没听说过

教授有些是荣誉性质的 更多也是卖的
OC还是学校里的很搞笑啊 new graduates就是现在这效果
真打成HoF了 也就不缺学校的荣誉了
只是我觉得stanford这种非体育牛校实在没必要搞这事

athletic department budget depends on donations. In fact, not only are
coaching positions endowed, even athletic scholarships are endowed. All 85
football scholarships at Stanford are individually endowed.
