Cardinals end Thursday drought
If you talk to your grandpa tomorrow, you should ask him if he was alive the
last time the Cardinals won a Thursday night game prior to this week.
Before beating the Rams, the Cardinals were in an 0-11 drought on Thursdays
and hadn't won since Nov. 25, 1948, a Thanksgiving Day game against the
Lions. The Cardinals weren't even in Arizona when they won that game, they
were in Chicago.
11-wins is a big deal in Arizona because it's never happened
The Cardinals didn't just get over the Thursday night hump, they also got
over another hump: The 11-win hump.Thanks to their win over the Rams, the
Cardinals are now 11-3 on the season, marking the first time the team has
hit the 11-win mark in Arizona. The Cardinals moved to Arizona before the
1988 season and had only even hit 10-wins twice (2009, 2013) before hitting
the 11-win mark on Thursday.
It wasn't the first time the Cardinals have hit 11 wins though. The
Cardinals won 11 games in 1975 while based in St. Louis. The team also won
11 games in 1948 and 1925 while based in Chicago. | x*******1
