The 2014 ACGA Spring Go Expo will be a one-day event, held on March 29 on
the 3rd floor of MIT's Stratton Student Center.
Register for the Spring Go Expo. Registration isn't necessary to attend, but
we would appreciate if you let us know that you're coming. Additionally, by
registering, you can guarantee yourself a fan signed by world champion
Chang Hao 9p!
What is the Spring Go Expo?
The 2014 ACGA Spring Go Expo is a celebration of the ancient Chinese game of
Go. Aimed at both Go players and the general public, the Expo will
emphasize the importance of cross-cultural education and collaboration,
especially as applied to Go and its future in America.
The Expo is open free of charge to the general public, and we especially
encourage students (K-12 and university) to attend. The American Collegiate
Go Association is dedicated to promoting Go to students as a means for
education; we are happy to provide travel subsidies and accommodations to
students and who might otherwise find it difficult to attend.
We are additionally hoping to set up every participant (who wishes to) in a
simultaneous game with a player of at least 7d strength!

Morning Activities (Doors open at 8:15am)

10:15-11:00 – Welcoming Introductions from the Chinese Delegation and
leaders of the ACGA. Donation of table Weiqi boards to MIT and Harvard.
11:15-1:00 - Crazy Go, Lessons, Free play
12:00 - 1:00 - Lunch (provided on site)
Afternoon Activities
1:00- 3:30 - Simultaneous games with professional players
3:30 - 5:00 - Demonstration game between Chang Hao and strong North
American amateurs. Commentary provided by Hua Xue Ming 7p

圍棋博覽會 美東逾百好手過招

2014美國大學生圍棋協會（ACGA）春季圍棋博覽會，3月29日在麻省理工學院學生中心
舉行，100多位來自美東各大高校的大學生到場切磋棋藝。
應昌期圍棋教育基金會主席應明皓攜該會秘書長倪耀良、圍棋世界冠軍常昊和中國圍棋
隊領隊華學明等，一行從上海趕來支持，希望將圍棋推廣到全世界。
應明皓並代表應氏基金會，向哈佛和MIT圍棋俱樂部分別贈送一台「應氏棋桌」。
他表示，全中國僅兩個工匠可製作這棋桌，全美僅八台。棋桌是全紅木打造，特從上海
運來，每台價值2300元。桌面可翻轉兼裝飾和棋桌兩用，兩邊設有獨特棋子凹槽，可自
動計算棋子數量。
兩校俱樂部主席閆茉莉和劉銀河，代表接受棋桌後，都表示會認真選址珍藏。
第二次來參加春季圍棋博覽會的常昊，再次一展高超棋藝，華學明現場進行了專業解說。
有中國圍棋推廣大使身分的常昊說，作為職業選手，讓更多的人喜歡圍棋是他的理想和
責任。中國影響力逐漸增大的今天，是讓圍棋走出國門的好機會。
華學明是中國最優秀的圍棋職業女選手之一。面對圍棋女性愛好者較少的現狀，她呼籲
全家一起下圍棋，培養共同愛好，在鍛鍊計算和空間想像力的同時，更重要的是體會圍
棋的中庸之道。
當天博覽會吸引超過100位來自美東各大高校的大學生到場切磋棋藝，交流心得，與偶
像當面請教等。
應明皓說，近年來應氏基金會十分注重圍棋的海外推廣。第一屆世界大學生圍棋錦標賽
去年在上海成功舉行，有眾多北美大學生赴中國參賽。他希望後年能在波士頓舉辦比賽。
他並計畫將應氏杯世界職業錦標賽的半決賽和決賽帶到波士頓和紐約等地，相信會帶來
一波圍棋高潮。
除此，應氏基金會將推出網絡圍棋課堂，免費教學，藉網絡平台將圍棋普及到中國偏遠
山區、北美、非洲乃至全世界。
他說，圍棋海外推廣之所以從大學生入手，是因大學生智力思考和文化內涵都趨於成熟
，更願意嘗試。而且步入社會，可將圍棋和圍棋精神帶到社會的每一個階層。 | M*******p
