recently i tried fast tempo swing, found that left thumb strength is used to
stop the club at top, especially when you swing at a fast tempo.
normally it's not hard to stop a club at the top of backswing. but for the
accuracy of ball strike, the club has to be stopped in a way such that "arm
stop, hand stop, club stop at the same time". so it becomes very hard ...

to the power which enable the ball to fly
if you look at the long hitter swing video... at impact and a little past
impact, their hands and club head is moving at the same angular speed and
left arm is in line with the club shaft. however, before impact, there was
an angle between shaft and left arm...
so i guess there is a wrist lock-out at release, this may integrate you body
weight into the impact...

quite different. You can have a very slow takeaway to get your driver to the
top and a fast downswing to hit the ball 300 yards. To me, a right swing
tempo and rhythm that fits you is more important than a fast swing.

takeaway to impact, for instance, say 1.2 seconds
relative faster tempo can helps with more coil and big shoulder turn in back
swing (under control), just notice that a lot of small guys employ faster
tempo, such AK, Fowler, hogan. while big guys like ELS has a relative slow
tempo... ELS is long hitter, but not at top tier as JB holmes, bubba
watson, PHIL (09 - present)...
