For those of us golfers living on Long Island, it's great news that the
Ryder Cup and PGA Championship are headed here. We'll have more chances to
witness the greatest golfers of the current and future generations. We'll
be able boast our home town on top of the two US Opens and the Barcley's
Fedex Playoff held here in the past few years. However, it's a mixed
blessing: With every big event the Bethpage courses get more attention from
golfers far and near, and each year tee-time becomes that much harder to
get.
Today I reserved a foursome for Sunday 8/18, and the best available tee time
for any of the 5 courses was 3:08PM, barely enough to finish a round by
darkness. Imagine how busy it'll be next year and the next! | C******s

then to witness the next generation great players, among them may be a kid
of yours or some other parents on this Board!

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) -- The Ryder Cup and PGA Championship are coming to
Bethpage Black.
The PGA of America announced Tuesday that Bethpage Black will host the
rowdiest event in golf in 2024, and the 2019 PGA Championship. The public
course at a Long Island state park has developed a well-earned reputation
for loud and boisterous fans, having played host to two U.S. Open
championships in 2002 and 2009. Last year, the Barclays was held there as
part of the FedEx Cup playoffs......
