About 5 weeks ago I unfortunately was faced with an issue where I had to
draw my weapon in defense of my self, my son, and others. The legal action
against the man I drew on has completed and I can now discuss it freely.
Here is what happened.
I went into a local baby store to purchase a gift card with my 2 year old
son. Upon exiting the store I walked with my son to the family minivan and
began placing him in his car seat. Next to me was a woman placing her 2
month old daughter in a car seat.
My attention was drawn to her when a man walked around the back of my
vehicle and up to her. He was about 3 feet from me as he grabbed her purse
in one hand and a knife with blade exposed in the other.
When he noticed me, he add my wallet to demand for her purse. At this time
he turned further towards me and directed the knife in my direction. I
noticed that the rear portion of the knife had what appeared to be dried
blood on it.
I stepped back and made sure I was between him and my son. He then began to
take a step towards me when I said "Ok, relax", and acted to reach for my
wallet. The man did not know I was carrying with my IWB indexed at the 5 o'
clock location on my hip.
My next action was to draw down and present. My only fear was for my son's
safety. I didn't even think of my self. I knew at that range he would be on
me swinging with the knife by the time I fired. But I knew that it was a 50/
50 chance that he would run instead of attack. I was lucky as he dropped the
knife and ran.
I gave a statement to the police and left with my son only to find out that
the man was caught with in 30 mins of me leaving the location. He walked
less then 1/4 of a mile away and was sitting on the front step of a
townhouse.
The knife ended up being the nail in the coffin for him. The police were
able to DNA test the dried blood on the knife which in turn connected the
man to 5 rapes in the local area. He was targeting women with children
during the day and forcing them into their car at knife point hoping that
they would not fight back if their child was there.
With the evidence against him and the women who were attacked being able to
identify him, he pleaded guilty to 5 counts of aggravated sexual assault, 1
count of assault with a deadly weapon due to cutting one of the women during
the attack, and 2 counts of attempted strong armed robbery with a weapon.
He was sentenced this morning to 46 years in a Florida state facility.
I know I was very lucky with what happened, and as a CCW holder it is
something I always hoped I would never have to experience. But no matter
what I have still been thinking of what could have happened to the other
woman if I was not there and if I did not react to protect the lives of
those around me.

最关键不要放空枪no warning shot if u have to open fire

发帖数: 907 | 15 谢谢分享。看来对烂仔来说，present 就足够了。作者头脑清晰，应对合理。但draw
down 这一步还是冒了很大风险的。不过停车场background 复杂，draw and point 也
不合适。就像他说的，50/50
多练习拔枪，瞄准的分解动作?

如果身上没枪，但有一把折刀，放在5点钟的位置（估计掏刀开刀至少也需要一秒钟的
时间），
然后2个人拼刀，3个回合胜负难分，坏人不敢恋战开溜。 |
