low yield on 40nm doesn't mean they can't/shouldn't do 28nm. Indeed any
major fabs should have something similar now as it is the trend and if
they don't start 28nm they will die.

一个软件没有做好，可以重再做一个。
但要是工艺就不一样了，走都不会，怎么跑？
就好象，2核CPU都做不出的，能作出4核来？

same thing. if N card is bad due to tsmc, A card won't be much better, and
vice versa...
tsmc's 40nm process is bad, but it is not so bad that even end customers
need to worry about it. the process will eventually mature, it is just a
matter of time (well, comparing to Intel, the yield may still be not as
good even the process is mature... but it should be an OK number).

Intel has better yields? A year ago, I tried to find out yields of various companies, from Intel to TSMC to UMC to SMIC, but found no published account. I have not heard of news report that Intel has yield issues, but this is the first time I heard about TSMC, then again, I am not int this field, so I might have missed it.
