I work on upgrade my home theatre to blu-ray. ( yes, I know. i was traveling
in Mar. ) Then I find this Dolby TrueHD, which is claimed as lossless
sound. The problem is that my AVR, DENON 3805 doesn't have HDMI. If i want
to have the TrueHD, i will have to get a blu-ray player decode it and send
through the 7.1 analog output. Just to make it more confusing, i only have 5
speakers connecting with my AVR.
Here are my questions:
1. Does the Dolby TrueHD sound so much better than DD5.1 or DTS in my 5
speakers setup? Is it worth the effort to make it work or buy a new receiver
? ( I kinna like my 3805)
2. If the answer is yes, then what happen to those 7.1 analog signal inputs
to my Denon 3805? Since i only have 5 speakers, would Denon process and
compress it again so that I eventually get some mixed lossy sounds？
3. If I can still get the nice lossless sound, any good blu-ray players you
can recommend? I know Oppo offers this capability but they are kinna costly.
I have tried to get the answer for the whole night by reading many threads
but didn't get a clue. Any help would be greatly appreciated! | w**t

my Lexicon receiver.
1. yes, lossless is always better than the lossy DTS/DD ,but whether you can
tell the difference or not depending on your system and your ear.
2. typically blu-ray player can mixed the 7.1 into 5.1 output, at least my
oppo player does it.
but I don't recommend using analog output to receiver because of the extra A
/D convert process unless your receiver is excellent doing A/D convert.
Denon 3805's analog 5.1 input probably is not that good.
anyway, you can give a try and do your own comparison between 5.1 analog
output and DD/DTS 5.1.
3. oppo 93 is very nice and not expensive,price is dropping since new
version 103/105 is released
if your speaker is nice and you want better sound,then upgrade to a
receiver with hdmi is the way to go. | s*******y

我有个JVC的蓝光机，接的是Onkyo的receiver，这个receiver是带trueHD解码功能的，
然后receiver接了5.1的系统。
我有一张蓝光碟，里面有一个英文的音轨是true HD7.1的，如果我用这个音轨，就没有
声音，如果用2.0或者其他语种非trueHD的就有声音
请问这个问题在什么地方？蓝光机本身需要truHD的解码么？感觉不需要啊，还是需要接
成7.1的音箱才行？

发帖数: 1037 | 4 如果receiver 能解 TrueHD, 那么7.1 和5.1 应该都是可以解的.
如果所有的7.1 trueHD 都没声音,我倾向于是 receiver 设置问题. 同时再查查蓝光机
的设置.
如果只有这张碟没声音,那就是碟本身的问题了.

刚又看了一下，我前面说的不准确，这个碟的音轨设置跟别的碟不一样
碟是Walk the line
主音轨是5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio，别的音轨有English Stereo，Spanish 5.1DOLBY
digital之类
播放的时候Receiver上面那个DTS-HD Master Audio的display是出来的，但是没有声音
，换成别的音轨都没有问题

发帖数: 46535 | 7 前一阵没线，刚连上试了一下，出声，不过还是有问题。
记得以前True HD Master Audio的红灯会亮，就是没声音。刚看说明书，True HD Mast
er Audio不需要7.1，本身这个碟的音轨也就是5.1，所以我的配置5.1也就够了。不过R
eceiver说明书上说这个应该是在multi channel底下，可是我只要按了multi channel的
键，声音就没了，影院的其他auido模式也调不出来。试了另外一张有Master Audio的也
是一样，搞不明白了。不过也无所谓了
