My 6th year H1B visa is going to expire in January 2008, But My PERM
recently got audit..I don't think i have enough time to wait for PERM gets
certified, except changing to F1 student status, what other option can I do?

你的perm是啥事递交的？
H1六年后的延期条件之一是LC申请超过365天。如果你的perm是今年1月前递交的，即使
你的perm到2009年1月前还在pending,你那时候也可以延期你的H1（一次一年）
转成F1对你没任何帮助，因为你不出境一年以上的话没法再用H1了。而且一旦转成了F1
，你的perm基本就作废了。

My PERM is going to expire Jan/2009, and my attorney just told me that the
easiest way to keep leagel status in the U.S., is change to F1 status until
my PERM gets pending for 1 year (next May, to apply H1b extention). so,
before PERM pending for 1 year, I have about 4 months gap with no any leagel
permit to stay in the U.S..unless i obtain F1 visa.......and that's what I
am worrying to do, since i have a steady job.......don't want to lose it...T
