标 题: 最早什么时间可以申请OPT extension

想尽快申请OPT extension，可是USCIS的网站上写extension在OPT开始后随时可以申请
。学校网站写最早OPT失效前 180天。哪个更可靠呢？

When must a student apply for an OPT extension?
Under the prior regulations, F-1 students had to apply for post-completion
OPT prior to graduation.
This rule allows F-1 students seeking initial post-completion OPT to apply
during their 60-day departure preparation periods in the same way that they
are allowed to apply for a change to H-1B status during their departure
preparation periods.
Students may apply for an OPT extension at any time prior to the expiration
date of their current OPT period.
可是学校说：
he USCIS must receive your application before the expiration date of your
EAD, but no earlier than 120 days before the expiration date.
另外OPT extension可以PP吗？ |

doesn't mean "extension在OPT开始后随时可以申请".

Especially for opt ext there is no need to worry. You can legally work for
up to 180 days with receipt of opt ext or until a decision is made ,
whichever is earlier

另外，是opt extension批准了就可以递交485还是要等opt extension生效啊，如果485

还是说file了140，OPT就不能extend了
现在OPT在准备申请EB1B
HR问我OPT extend事情，不知道什么意思。
我的OPT到明年6月，现在就准备file EB1B的话，9月初是不是大概可以file呢。我只希
望明年6月之前EAD能下来，如果不被拒绝，是不是还算保险，最大的风险是140不过？

Note that even if you have immigration intention, OPT ext may still be
approved. It is just that if it is denied because of your immigration
intention, you have no way of appealing.
Filing 140 constitutes a kind of immigration intention.
Filling 485 is even stronger immigration intention.
That is all. You yourself have to weigh between risk and gain.
