发帖数: 60 | 1 前几天发了一个贴子问未名里的朋友能不能分享一下follow to join跟随加入的经验，
结果得到的回复很少，在为数极少的回复里也是寥寥数语。我现在是在485 pending.
老婆现在在国内，就盼着赶紧绿卡下来可以给她申请，就是用follow to join的方式。
前一段时间在网上搜集了一些相关的资料，在这里总结一下。希望对有这方面需要的朋
友有所帮助，也是为了自己能理一下头绪，为今后的申请做好准备。即使是要找律师，
也不要被律师给忽悠了，先做到心中有数。

You may file an I-824 concurrently with your I-485 (or any time before the I
-485 is approved) to request following-to-join benefits for your spouse
living overseas. You will not get a refund of the I-824 filing fee if USCIS
denies your green card application. Otherwise, you may wait to file the I-
824 until after USCIS approves your I-485. In that case, you must attach a
copy of the I-485 approval notice and a copy of your approved I-485
application.
In the I-824, you must request USCIS to notify NVC that you adjusted status
to permanent resident, and designate the US Consulate where your spouse will
apply for the immigrant visa. After the I-485 and I-824 are approved, the
NVC will send instructions on paying the visa processing fees, filing the DS
-260 (online Immigrant Visa application), and submitting financial documents
and supporting documents. For more information on the Immigrant Visa
Process, go to the DOS website.
After NVC receives the required fees, confirmation of the DS-260 online
filing, and required documents, it will work with the US Consulate to
schedule a visa interview and forward the case to the US Consulate. Your
spouse will need to complete a medical exam prior to the interview.
从这几个段落中可以看出，整个follow to join 的过程应该是分三步：
第一步：提交I-824。当然这得等主卡的绿卡申请下来才能正式的对I-824进行审批。I-
824批准以后就是下一步。
第二步：按照NVC (National Visa Center) 发来的具体说明，交纳签证费，填写DS-
260表（移民签证申请），还有证明财力等的相关材料。“paying the visa
processing fees, filing the DS-260 (online Immigrant Visa application), and
submitting financial documents and supporting documents”. 具体的填写DS-260

第三步：走领事馆程序。NVC 会把这个case 发给美国在华的领事馆。体检完后，再面
试。

因为以上内容摘自一位台湾朋友的帖子，所以有些繁体字拷贝过来的时候没法正确显示，
我又重新进行了修改。这个材料清单可能是给小孩申请的，所以里面用到了小孩的护照
。这里需要根据自身具体情况，给谁申请就用谁的护照。
还有就是具体的跟随加入的步骤我还没有进行，等我以后给我老婆申请的时候我会及时
更新。如果有哪位有经验的朋友，发现我所提供的或者摘录的信息有不对的地方，敬请
