free, also state tax free if you buy the bond of your state. Capital gain is
still taxable if you sell the bond before maturity.

发帖数: 778 | 4 Interest就是利息，不包括你通过市场买卖差价赚到的。municipal bond 都是半年发
一次利息，公司债券大部分也是，少数是按月发利息。capital gain就是你买卖价格扣
除手续费后还有赚的部分，和股票一样。到期债券就还本了，不存在二级市场去交易到
期的债券，所以也没有交税一说。most bonds have face value 100$, if you buy in
secondary market lower than 100$, then the difference between your purchase
price plus transaction fee and face value will be the capital gain upon
maturity. In any case you sell the bond before maturity below your purchase
price, you can also claim capital loss.
