I'm working as a SE in Japan. Obviously, most of the
Chinese say US is much better than Japan.
I recently got some chances to go to US and have
difficulties to make a decision.
1. Got admission to MS in CS of Columbia U., no financial
aid. (will cost $40k)
2. Got admission to PhD in CS of USC, no financial aid.
(will cost $30k)
3. Got offer to PhD in CS of NCSU.
Now go or not? And choose which one?
How much is the prevailing salary in US now for a BS and MS
in CS with some working exper | d**o

Also at least you can see what the U.S. is like and have a different
sense of view. After living for more than 10 years in Japan, I went to the U
.S. for a year. To live in the U.S. or Japan as a foreigner, I recommend the

A lot of IT People here ,make 6 figures pre tax. But life is boring. Typical
midewest family with two work as programmer will have income above 150k.
Anyone please tell me why Japan is bad, I might be able to back out the

排除感情因素之外得因素能不能详细分析一下?
我先说说我自己得想法:
最近也一直在想这个问题(我现在在日本)
1.如果从孩子得角度出发,我特别想让他在国内接受教育,
起码到高中或者本科.理由是,我希望我得孩子以后跟我
交流起来没有隔膜,感情也是中国得父母和孩子之间得感情.
怕去了US,真得象刮痧里那样,教训他几句,他就报警了.
2.如果从自己得角度出发得话,美国得学术水平是高.
但是,既然现在人在日本,再去美国得话,势必会丢弃一些已有得经验,
如果这算损失得话,那又有什么得呢?
经济上差不多得话,就是追求学术得绝对高低吗?

我觉得在日本得生活是这样得:
在花钱得时候,会得到相应得服务,这点应该算是比国内和US好吧.
但是东京得消费比较高,
另外不爽得是,可能会遇到对中国人不是很友好得日本人,
当然可能不至于直接表示出来,
但是从眼神中隐约能感觉到--当然也可能是我敏感了.
这一点得话,我想US也一样吧,
一说是中国人,还是会有点被看不起得感觉.

直接从大陆去,当然首选是美国.但是否从日本去美国,这里有个机遇,性格,背景和看
法的问题.
由于工作的原因,我也在被公司派到美国待了一段时间.后来在美国的同学和朋友都
劝我留下找个工作得了.但在美国处事,工作方式上与日本很不同.如果年轻10岁以上
,反正是一张白纸,或许会选择留下,但在日本毕业工作多年,适应了日本社会和公司
,就已经没有从头作起的魄力,差不多挣同样的钱,正统的日本公司一般会养你一辈
子.懒人图个安稳.
这个问题上可以说是萝卜青菜各有所爱.比如在日本的有的人熬了十几年也只拿永住
,有的5年就去归化,各有各的道理.谁都没错.至于孩子,我只要他能够有出息,日本人
也好,美国人也好,中国人也好,对父母来说有多大区别呢.
