H1丢工作后，
1。 是不是第二天身份就非法了， 还是以最后一个paycheck上的日期算。
2。就算解雇之后立即申请转换B2签证，是不是就可以继续找工作，或合法留在这一段
时间打包回国。
3. 如果解雇之后立即申请转换F1签证，那也需要几天申请，学校批准，在申请I-20，
中间可能也是一小段无身份时期。 算非法居留吗？ 要出境，在签F1进来吗？
4。如果很幸运，一两个月找到了新的工作，那这两个月之间的灰色时期怎么算？会不
会由于有这段灰色时期，移民局不给办新的H1? | m****n

sure.
1. Theoretically, you are out-of-status the next day. But this is very hard
to be enforced. Therefore, a paycheck with later date would help in case you
be inquried in the future.
2. There is no "grace period" after H1B status gets invalid. As answered in
1, you cannot just stay and search around for new job (theoretically). I am
not sure about B2. But you can definitely apply for "change of status" to
either H4, F

As long as you filed your change of status (to F1) is filed, you can
stay and go to school. As far as I know, the only problem is that you cannot
receive stipend if you want to work as TA/RA in school before your change
of status application gets approved. (I am not sure whether scholarship/
fellowship fall into this category too.) If this is the case, you might want
to go to Mexico or Canada getting a F1 visa to re-enter the country to
expedite this process. Th
