Senior Technologist
Job Description
This challenging position will allow the candidate to gain expertise in
state-of-the-art wireless multimedia technologies, in a fast growing high
tech startup deploying video optimization systems for network operators and
content providers. The candidate will participate in the research and
development of a new technology platform applicable to a diverse set of next
generation wireless devices. The candidate will be the lead architect of
the solution, in collaboration with senior technologists. The position will
also offer opportunities to participate in customer and partnership
discussions, and participate in industry forums and standards meetings.
Essential Job Functions
Development of algorithms and architectures for new technologies.
Testing, analysis, and validation of the technology prototypes.
Participation in technology evaluation and partnership initiatives.
Interaction with customers and various groups in the company as needed, to
architect and deliver compelling products to customers.
Requirements
7+ Years of experience in innovating, conceptualizing, designing and
architecting new products and developing prototypes.
Experience in the entire software development life cycle from concept to
testing / maintenance.
Expertise in C/C++ programming required.
Familiarity with embedded development platforms such as Windows Directshow/
WMF, Android Multimedia, iOS Multimedia or BREW.
Familiarity with development on Linux/Windows, to develop robust client-
server solutions for the desktop as well as embedded devices.
Knowledge of any of the following Scripting languages: Perl, PHP, Shell
scripting.
Excellent problem solving skills required.
Experience in one or more of the following technologies is desirable:
o Network delivery protocols (RTSP/RTP/RTCP,HTTP,RTMP,SIP,AHLS)
o Network programming for TCP or UDP protocols.
o Understanding of Mobile internet concepts.
o Audio/video compression technologies (MPEG,H.264,AAC,VP8) and formats (MP4
/FLV/MPEG2TS).
o DRM technologies for secure media management
Experience with some embedded platform such as Qualcomm SnapDragon or TI –
OMAP
Candidate Qualifications
Ph.D. or MS in EE/ECE or Computer Science
6-9 years of industrial experience
Willing to relocate to San Diego, CA area | J******t
