Organic/Polymer Synthetic Chemist

Organic-Polymer Synthetic Chemist
This is a full-time, permanent position in a dynamic fiber-optics component company. The selected Organic Chemist will work with the Project Leader, Principal Production Engineer and other chemists. The successful applicant will join a team that is producing photosensitive polymers for optical device industry. The selected individual will spend most of his/her time in the lab to synthesize, purify and analyze novel photosensitive polymers. He/She should be able to do troubleshooting in current production processes and work with Fab staff to optimize the chip performance. He/She must be able to start working before mid June.
REQUIREMENTS:
MS or PhD in Synthetic Organic/Polymer Chemistry.
In-depth knowledge of Organic and polymer synthesis and characterization.
3-5 years hands-on experience in organic synthesis, inert atmosphere. Experience in fluorinated material, synthesis and application of photosensitive polymer and knowledge of surface/film properties is a plus.
Proficiency with purification techniques and instruments: NMR, HPLC, GC-MS, FTIR, GPC.
Must be accurate, methodical and well organized.
Excellent communication and inter-personnel skills are essential.
Ability to be self-managing and task focused.
