听说IBM拿return offer几率几乎为0。所以说IBM主要吸引我的地方是他们做跟big
data有关的东西。想问下大家，根据现在job market的情况，暑期实习搞搞big data相
关的东西，能不能为将来找full-time带来较大的好处？ |

Job description
We currently have internship opportunities available in Solutions for a
Smarter Planet which focuses on research in living laboratories and with
industry clients to develop innovative solutions based on big data analysis.
In our department we develop innovative prototypes to solve problems in
industry verticals such as transportation, telecommunications, freight etc..
Our projects include the Dubuque living lab, and City in Motion in Istanbul
and Dubuque.
Some of our notable department accomplishments/awards include the National
Association of Development Organizations 2012 Innovation Award for our work
in modeling movement in cities and helping cities optimize transportation.

Students are employees hired for a pre-professional/professional assignment
while enrolled at a university/educational institution or just after
completion of qualification and work for IBM as a required part of their
academic program or work during vacation, breaks, and/or holiday periods or
as a placement year, for example, co-ops and interns.
Required
Bachelor's Degree
Basic knowledge in Java/C++ programming
English: Intermediate
Preferred
Master's Degree in Information Technology
At least 2 years experience in big data platform and programming such as
Hadoop/Map Reduce
At least 2 years experience in Java/C++ programming
At least 2 years experience in HDFS
At least 2 years experience in noSQL database
At least 2 years experience in algorithms and systems
English : Fluent

发帖数: 355 | 9 如果你是PhD，Watson的实习经历还是不错的。但是return offer基本不可能，除非你
的publication很strong而且你或者你老板有很strong的network。我知道不少在watson
的做了2个summer的intern，最后full time都去不了。
如果你只是想做码农的话，IBM research未必适合你。

发帖数: 6799 | 11 想起几个月前，一哥们打电话来，自称是IBM Watson的，说我申了他们组full-time的
职位（确实申请了那个职位），问是否还有兴趣，在接下来的几周有时间面试否。。。
当时可把我给美的，结果后来再也没有消息，tnnd
不过既然你们说Watson这么牛，只好自我安慰一下了。。。

有找到。面试也没有人问big data。都是算法和设计之类的题。最多问个mapreduce，
问的人也不太懂的样子。 |
