Job Description
Position Summary:
Responsibility for the specification, development and implementation of new
material technologies to support the TOUS Innovation and Technology (IT)
team's goals. You will be required to use the Innovation Process to develop
new opportunities for materials technology and deliver solutions that meet
the needs of the TOUS Customers. As a member of a global IT team you will
share technologies, ideas and best practice to continuously improve the team
performance, and transfer innovation outcomes to the businesses in an
agreed manner which allows its exploitation. Work on a global technical team
to deliver results efficiently to our customers
Essential Duties:
• Develop proprietary new materials/polymer composites based syntactic
foams technology for DRBM and related applications
• Provide multi-disciplinary solutions to meet TOUS customers projects
requirements
• Use the innovation process to manage projects and enhance visibility
to GBT
• Efficient data management/use of material properties from
experiments/literature.
• Complete technical reports on time at appropriate phases of the
Innovation Process for smooth transition of project ownership
• Transfer IT project outcomes to Manufacturing for commercial
production
• Work on a global technical team to deliver results efficiently to
our customers
• Assist TO colleagues in achieving their objectives by technical
support and team work
• Deliver high quality technical contributions through effective
communications
• Support TOUS Sales Team in new product training
• Ensure full compliance to all company policies and procedures within
your jurisdiction.
• Leverage all resources - working with suppliers, universities, and
technology partners to get the assignments done on time.
Desired Skills & Experience
Education and Requirements:
• Ph.D in Materials Science and/or Polymers/Ceramics Composites
Development
• Post-Doctoral Training or industry R/D experience in high
performance Materials Systems, especially ceramics and polymer matrix, and
applications within their industry
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Great lateral thinker
• Excellent communication skills at all levels (internal and external)
• Methodical approach to problem solving
• Self empowerment - learning/use of new skills/tools/training
• Handling multiple tasks and ability to balance risk and reward
• Flexibility and nimbleness in adapting to changing priorities by
Business needs
