Software Engineer in Test II
Position Description
As a Software Engineer in Test (SET) on the team, you will have a great
opportunity to directly impact every stage of development ensuring we
deliver the right products to our users. You will be a thought leader on the
scrum team: refining test strategy, developing powerful new test automation
tools, and guiding the approach of other team members so everyone benefits
from the wealth of your ideas. You will collaborate with your peers across
the company so that others will gain the benefit of your experience. Bring
your coding and communication skills and passion for software testing and
join us as we solidify our position as the leaders in travel industry!
Responsibilities:
Automate test cases using Java and various other programming languages
to create quality automation.
Develop automated test tools and assist in the creation and maintenance
of our automation framework.
Update, review, and document test cases; create new test cases as needed.
Troubleshoot issues found while testing to deliver clear bug reports.
Must be able to drive projects to completion and work with minimal
supervision.
Adapt to change requests easily and remain flexible to accommodate new
requirements.
Strong sense of ownership.
Passion for technology.
Participation during all aspects of the product lifecycle from
specification to release on the web.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience with any programming language: Java (preferred),
C++, C#, as well as a deep understanding of object oriented programming.
2 years of software testing experience, with a strong emphasis on
automation, preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in programming concepts and methodologies; proven
knowledge of various testing techniques.
Must be proficient in SQL including queries and stored procedures;
ability to read and understand data models and relational databases.
Must be able to understand and translate functional requirements /
specifications into test cases, and proven ability to create new test cases.
Knowledge of modern internet technologies involving large scale
transactional websites and web services.
Excellent problem solving and strong communication skills.
Must be able to function in a team environment and have the ability to
adapt.
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, required | l****r
