Description:
As a Database Administrator you work as part of a team that provides
operational support for databases in the Corporate Datacenter. The database
administration team is responsible for the overall planning of databases
accuracy and completeness of data in master files; establishing and
maintaining security, formulating and monitoring policies, procedures and
standards; and proposals for enhancements.
Essential Functions:
As a Database Administrator, you are responsible for management tier one and
lower databases in the Corporate Datacenter. You will:
- Optimize and tune Corporate application databases.
- Troubleshoot database performance problems.
- Perform routine database monitoring and maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and correct database issues within the established time
constraints.
- Install and maintain (patch) database software.
- Create, backup and recover databases.
- Manage Service-Desk tickets and/or the Database Administration Service-
Desk ticket queue.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call duty rotation.
- Provide documentation/record keeping as directed by Management.
- Communicate with internal customers, peers, and managers regarding
database administration issues.
Requirements:
- Good oral and written communication skills; including documentation.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Database structure and relational theory
- Standard SQL commands
- Database administration tools, procedures and best practices
- Knowledge of scripting methods (e.g. PERL, shell, VB, SQL, etc.)
General Information Technology industry knowledge as it applies to the area
of databases.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of other Database
Administrators to support deadlines; ability to work independently as well. | m**********n

就是24x7 on-call，大公司rotate一次大概2个月，还行
