POSITION SUMMARY
Manage the development of reports to support business groups
including Planning, Finance, Stores and Production. Develop business
intelligence reports for decision support to all business groups. Manage the
development cycle from requirements capture, design, QA to deployment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Provide all aspects of Project Management for reporting solutions
• Create reports using Microsoft Reporting Tools – Reporting Services
, Analysis Services, Performance Point.
• Create and maintain reports in MS Access, Visual Basic, ASP/ASP.net,
and SQL in both the Windows and Unix environments. Develop Unix shell
scripts
• Create and modify database stored procedures. Develop data
extraction scripts from source data systems and databases
• Manage projects end-to-end, from requirements capture to QA and
implementation
• Work directly with users to trouble-shoot, maintain and enhance
existing reports and programs
• Lead cross function teams to capture requirements and provide
solution analysis for 30+ business reports. Write program specifications
based on user requirements. Spec, design and prototype reports for user
review. Program the reports and configure the delivery channels. Manage
version control
• Provide QA and bug fixing
• Build and execute implementation plans
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors degree in computer sciences, finance and accounting,
business management, etc. preferred
• 6+ years experience in applications and reports development.
Enterprise migration experience a huge plus
• Experience in apparel merchandising and retail businesses preferred.
Familiar with retail business intelligence. Understand retail KPI and
dashboard concepts
• Team oriented in engaging IT and user groups
• Project management experience in prioritizing tasks and setting
timelines for project completion
• Understanding of software development life-cycle
• Strong knowledge of database environments – Oracle, Informix, SQL-
Server; Relational databases, data warehouses and SQL. Strong understanding
of report writing and data mining tools
• Experienced with Microsoft Reporting Services, MS Access, and Visual
Basic
• Ability to write Unix scripts and write stored procedures
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
