A telecommunication company is seeking a highly-motivated postdoctoral
researcher to carry out top-notch research on the delivery of video traffic
over modern communication systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and analyze network protocols to optimize the
delivery of video traffic over packet-switching communication systems in
terms of efficiency, robustness, and quality of experience
• Create demonstrations that showcase the benefits of proposed
network protocols
• Document results in technical reports, and publish results in
leading conferences and journals
• Support related patent applications
Qualifications
• PhD degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Well
qualified candidates in the final year of PhD program will be considered as
well.
• Availability for a 3-month minimum required, 6 months preferred.
• Solid understanding of computer networking including congestion
control, routing and medium access control (as in the latest IEEE 802.11,
LTE/LTE-A standards)
• Demonstrated research ability through publications in leading
conferences and journals
• Proficient in C++ in an IDE environment
• Proficient in network simulators such as ns2/ns3, OPNET, or
QualNet
• Background in stochastic signal processing, control theory or
machine learning is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong team player
