Job description
We are looking for experienced engineer with cloud background to join the
team, to define and build the global cloud infrastructure and platform. You
will have opportunities to use cutting edge technologies to solve the most
challenging topics, like healthcare, personal identity, payment, etc. This
is an open, dynamic, and fast paced working environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Scale HuaMi cloud platform to handle and maintain complex processes in an
efficient and reliable way.
2. Core architecture and development of new features and improved
performance for high-traffic, high-availability web services.
3. Build infrastructure and tools to increase automation, improve efficiency
of the engineering team, and maintain technical excellence in the code base.
4. Work closely with internal teams and partners, to identity key
requirements, and come with the best solution to address their needs.
5. Be part of small team in US and China, participate in design of global
cloud infrastructure and platform, which may need to integrate with partners
or 3rd party system. Quickly build the prototype as proof of concept,
includes performance testing on global connectivity, latency, and data
consistency.
6. Keep improving and turning the system, identity performance bottleneck,
enables automatic deployment and system monitoring.
Requirements:
1. BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field.
2. Extensive background in algorithms and strong software architecture
skills.
3. Expert proficiency in at least two common languages, such as Java,
Javascript.
4. Experience with maintaining distributed systems at significant scale in a
production environment.
5. Strong knowledge of web technologies, including details of HTTP, common
web frameworks such as Tomcat and Jetty, networking, and web performance
engineering.
6. Experience with map-reduce or large-scale data processing (e.g Hadoop),
Linux serving systems, and NoSQL a plus.
7. 4+ years overall experience is desired. AWS experience is plus.
8. Hands-on experience with application platform, such as RESTful API, web
server, database design (RDBMS and NoSQL), memory cache, log and metrics
collection, system monitoring, testing framework, search engine (Solr/
Elasticsearch).
9. Experience of setup, monitoring, tuning application, is big plus.
