H-1B visa news: Over half million Indians may be deported home if Donald
Trump takes this big step
The bill that reflects President Donald Trump’s “Buy American, Hire
American” vision aimed at hiking manufacturing and protect local jobs for
Americans can seriously dent chances of a large number of H-1B visa holders
from India of staying in America anymore. Around 500,000 to 750,000 Indian H
-1B visa holders could be sent home if this bill sees the light of the day,
a Hindustan Times report said citing an unidentified official at Immigration
Voice, an advocacy body based in San Jose.

补一个 法案的summary
Protect and Grow American Jobs Act
This bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to revise the
definition of "exempt H-1B nonimmigrant" to eliminate the masters or higher
degree requirement and raise the annual salary threshold requirement from $
60,000 to $100,000.
(An exempt H-1B nonimmigrant is a nonimmigrant H-1B [specialty occupation]
worker meeting certain criteria whom an H-1B dependent employer may hire
without having to satisfy certain otherwise applicable H-1B hiring criteria.
An H-1B dependent employer is generally one whose H-1B workers comprise 15%
or more of the employer's total workforce, with different thresholds
applying to smaller employers.)
The bill requires an inflation adjustment to the salary threshold every
third fiscal year. |

漏洞百出。这种很容易被察觉。另一种是
半真半假。加上情绪或气氛的渲染，能骗倒一大片。
而且受骗或是处于某种动机(比如谎话确实
是心里期待发生的，倾向于相信的，或是
可以顺便表现一下自己的态度和观点)，
还可能跟着以讹传讹。比如楼主转载的文章，
前面说trump关于h1的bill已经通过国会，
等待下一步批准。好像说得属实。然后说
这个bill将取消h1b extension.
其实那个bill (hr170) 谈的是minimum wage
和h1 dependent company。并没有提取消h1 extension.
以后我也不浪费时间帮助辟谣了。愿意被骗还是愿意以
讹传讹，都是浪费他们自己的时间。

那些认为拿了H4 EAD的3姐不会去抽H1B的是傻B。
我认识好几个烙印都是说2个人都申请绿卡，说是死了一个，还有另一个。
3哥也没那么快死，别高兴太早了。

this news. Are you serious? Really happy? Don’t you know many Chinese EB23
waiting time are more than 6 years? When Indians are being kicked out, the
same with Chinese! I submitted GC application right after I started working
as H1B, EB23 line, eventually when I got the approved green card, it’s 5.5
years already. I was just the lucky one. Not all companies support GC right
after employees starts working. And not all applications are all smooth
without any checks or extra waiting. It’s very normal for Chinese EB23 to
use the H1B extension when waiting for GC. I really don’t understand what
are you happy for! We’re all Chinese. Don’t we need to unify? |
