Position Summary – RF & Microwave Electrical Engineer
Exciting opportunity exists for someone with a strong technical, theoretical
& design background who has good organizational skills with an
exceptionally high regard for quality & customer service. Responsible for
designing and developing RF and Microwave discrete components and sub-
assemblies from concept through production. Applications are for use in
defense, commercial & industrial systems. This position has reporting
responsibility to Senior Management with potential to become an integral
part of our management team.
Job Functions
Design and develop IF/RF and Microwave circuits, components and sub-systems
based on marketing inputs and customer requirements under guidance of Senior
Engineers.
Analyze and validate designs through simulations and verify their
performance by testing prototypes.
Modify existing designs to improve performance, quality, manufacturability,
production yields, etc.
Prepare layouts, block diagrams and schematics in collaboration with related
engineering design teams.
Perform tolerance, worst-case analysis, debugging circuits and systems,
identifying, isolating and resolving performance problems.
Design production test fixtures.
Prepare engineering design reports-collect, analyze and summarize
engineering design data.
Assist in the preparation of application notes, ECNs and catalog specs for
publication.
Assist in the preparation of design review meetings
Prepare test set-ups and perform various RF tests
Maintain engineering files for each project
Update job knowledge by tracking & understanding emerging RF engineering
technologies and explore opportunities to add value & contributions to
company goals.
Desired QualificationsMSEE preferred or BSEE with one year related work
experience/internships.
Must have completed at least two of the following four courses:
Microwave Engineering
Communications Circuit Design
Analog Circuits
Integrated Circuits Design
Project or work experience on RF and Microwave communications circuits
analysis and design as well as analog communications circuits design is
required.
Must be familiar with RF and Microwave test equipment such as Vector Network
Analyzers, Spectrum and Noise Figure Analyzers, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes
, Signal Generators, etc.
ADS experience is required. Ansoft HFSS experience is a strong plus.
Being accountable for seeing the design of a component or subsystem from
conception through production, meeting deadlines and resolving performance
issues along the way.
Excellent organizational, planning, communication & writing skills a must
Demonstrated ability to excel in a high volume & tight deadline environment.
Demonstrated ability to interact, deliver results & be accountable to senior
management Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of
engineers to create & support the activities required during the life cycle
of products.
