===== Description of specific need =====
Client's Experiment Design and Analysis (EDA) team helps product teams to
design, conduct, and analyze experimental changes in product features. The
experiments consist of providing a randomly selected subset of client users
with experimental changes and comparing subsequent results with those of
other users. At the conclusion of an experiment, a large volume of treatment
and control results must be extracted from client’s Teradata data-
warehouse. The data must then be cleaned and often reorganized. Statistical
tests are performed in SAS. Those outcomes are reported via Microstrategy.
To make these operations more efficient, the EDA team is writing templates
that will operate on staff specifications of experimental parameters to
produce standard reports. In the meantime, the EDA team needs additional SAS
engineering support to adapt and run SAS scripts manually. In addition,
these SAS support engineers may help to write the templates needed to
automate existing scripts.
This position will be troubleshooting and supporting various applications.
Must have experience in a web-based environment and understand weblogs and
Unix Scripting. Experience with Large Volumes of data (terabytes) and HTML
is also required. Responsible for production support of SAS ETL processes
and reporting. The individual will provide excellent customer service to
other application engineers and business partners. The individual will also
work with others to ensure high quality and high availability of our
reporting systems. To be successful in this role, one must be able to work
effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment. This role requires good
communication skills, both with team members and business contacts. Must be
able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent assignments.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Participate in the reviews
of new or changing SAS programs prior to deploying code to production
Maintain a customer centric focus: respond quickly and effectively to
production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through
resolution. Includes updating management on progress and timeframes.
Interact with other departments in regards to current and future reporting.
Understand scope, deliverables, and timelines. Assist in managing user
expectations and impressions. Includes updating management on progress,
deliverables, and anticipated delays. Problem solve in areas of report
content, availability, data access, data transfer, data integrity and other
related issues while keeping management informed as appropriate. Develop and
maintain a thorough knowledge of the SAS ETL overnight processes and
reporting Problem solve and troubleshoot production issues with minimal
supervision Share knowledge by effectively documenting work On-call rotation
duties for after-hours production support is required
QUALIFICATIONS: SAS programming experience. SAS programming in an Oracle/
UNIX environment. Familiarity with SAS ODS, SAS IntrNet, Proc SQL, and SAS
MDDB preferred. experience working with large volumes of data with proven
ability to effectively analyze raw data. Working knowledge of the Internet,
HTML, TCP/IP, and electronic commerce on the web. Experience with web site
usage, terminology, and click stream analysis a plus. Working knowledge of
structured programming standards, including flow diagrams, modular coding
principles, and program documentation requirements. Ability to work on
multiple concurrent assignments effectively Ability to adjust activities to
provide operation support and new development activities. Excellent oral
and written communication skills. Proficient
with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
