PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Play an active role in the project team by contributing creative ideas aimed at developing new technologies that will be used in a biomedical engineering system.The system consists of the hardware for acquiring biomedical signal from human beings and the signal processing software and is aimed to obtain a useful measurement for doctors to screening or diagnosis chronic diseases.
- Design, implement, test and improve both biomedical hardware and software platforms in lab settings that demonstrate the performance of the new technology.
- Prepare and execute clinical tests for the new technology in the collaborated hospital.
- Actively collaborate with colleagues in Philips that are working in related fields and assist your colleagues, both in China and abroad, by sharing/discussing your insights.
MAJOR CHALLENGES
- Design, implementation, testing and improvement of both biomedical hardware and software, instead of only perform algorithm research and validate the algorithm
- Be able to quickly ramp up in related medical field and gain corresponding clinical domain knowledge, use the gained knowledge in system development
- Prove the success of the measurement system through building convincing prototypes, by yourself or in collaboration with other team members
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent research experience in the field of biomedical engineering and signal processing, as demonstrated by having obtained a PhD or MSc degree. The degree should be supported by publications in renowned international journals.
- Experience (2 years +) in working with biomedical system development. Preferably experience in developing professional medical equipment, or where you worked on HW-SW integration.
- Practical experience in designing hardware platform
- Practical experience in developing signal processing algorithms
- Excellent software development skills using practical languages such as Matlab etc.
- Architectural thinking and system design ability
- A quick learner and be able to apply the newly gained medical domain knowledge in your work, in particular, in areas that not touched upon before, such as medical/clinical knowledge
- Design and implement biomedical devices, such as ECG and BP
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Drive, entrepreneurial behaviour, result oriented and quality driven.

IP Intelligence Analyst
Organization Description:
IP&S CN Shanghai office deals with all kind of IP matters including Creation, Counseling (Non-Disclosure Agreements, Joint Development, Merger and Acquisition, IP landscaping, Supply and Purchase, etc.), Value Capturing (Licensing, Anti-counterfeiting, etc.). It comprises two main teams, namely IPC team working in close collaboration with internal partners (mainly in Philips China) to generate maximum value with IP for Philips, and Anti-counterfeiting team which fights against counterfeiting (trademark, designs,domain names) mainly on the Chinese market. The IPC team is further divided in 4 teams which correspond to the 4 IP&S BG (Lighting, Consumer Lifestyle, Healthcare and CT).
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Contribute to strategic and tactical business decisions with quantitative and qualitative analysis of patent landscapes and company patent portfolios. The work is done either pro-active or on request of an IP Counsel or manager. The working area is not limited to patents or other Intellectual Property (such as trademarks, designs), but also market/business aspects have to be taken into account.
• Deliver reports with analyzed IP information in own and relating areas of expertise:
• Quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Translating the IP analysis into insights for the internal customer
• Translating the IP analysis into insights for the internal customer
• Making own assumptions based on insights and logic
• IP trend analysis and forecasting.
• Provide IP&S pro-actively with IP-statistics, IP benchmark information and other IP information in own and relating areas of expertise.
• Contribute to the overall performance and improvement of Business Intelligence, e.g. by participating in improvement teams or by carrying out delegated management tasks or other special assignments.
• Build a network of IP Intelligence peers.
• Contribute to create a strong IP portfolio and create value for Philips by providing IP landscaping.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Experienced in dealing with databases and Internet searches, preferably for IP searches. Proven analytical skills

Purpose:
To grow the LED lighting business of Philips in China, we are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Lighting System & Application department of Philips Research Asia- Shanghai as a scientist of lighting application and virtual reality experience.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Understanding customer insights, market trend and technical trend in the lighting application area and identifying technical gaps;
• Designing the lab lighting conditions with lighting design software and benchmarking with real field condition by simulations.
• Solving the technical challenges in realizing the virtual environment in display according to reality and evaluating how realistic the virtual environment to present the real condition.
• Working closely with perception colleagues in designing new experiment for visual perception study under different lab lighting conditions which is confirmed with lighting design simulations.
• Analyze results from virtual reality and real field experiment, and set up confidence/ correction models for how to do visual perception with virtual reality display,
• Working closely with colleagues, partners and customers to develop differentiators that can fulfill the customer unmet needs;
• Well communicating with business partners and delivering high quality results in the forms of patent invention, technical report, and the proof of the concept demonstrations/prototypes etc;

• Working experience: >3 years working experience in computer graphics modeling such as 3D modeling with OpenGL, DirectX, GPU, knowledge of
