Principal Accountabilities
- Participate in projects working as a team and perform research in the field of lighting and lighting control
- Conduct research with designing and conducting experiments
- Be responsible for the information security, lighting control and system architecture aspects of the lighting system; understand the requirements of professional customers and end users and communicate these to the product development people, solve the technical problems of lighting control,communication and security in the lighting system
- Understand the adjacent fields relevant to the lighting system,e.g.smart city. Be creative to conduct innovations of new intelligent lighting opportunities in these fields.
- Be up-to-date, and understand, the lighting literature in the areas of lighting,lighting control, power electronics and energy saving. Summarize the literature reviews and research results into Technical Notes to be shared with Philips Community
- Actively collaborate with colleagues in Philips that are working in related fields both in China and abroad.
Major Challenges
1) Analyze the existing systems, understand the requirements of the business and identify the technical issues in the lighting systems
2) Identify the trends of the lighting technologies and energy saving technologies and develop innovative solutions for the technical problems.
Job Requirements
a) Education:
Master or doctor degree in electronic, electrical engineering or computer science
b) Experience:
Good knowledge of information security, wireless communication, data fusion, statistical analysis, lighting control standards, Zigbee, Dali, etc, can be additional
Strong skills in analyzing and solving theoretical and practical problems Experiences of analyzing, understanding and designing lighting control,power electronic systems and telecommunication systems
c) Competency and Skills:
Self-motivated, pro-active behaviour, result oriented and quality driven.Good communication skills, good spoken and written English (CET level 6 or higher) and Chinese (Mandarin).
