• Responsible of the optical design of new products according to the
functional requirements.
• Competence owner Optics in R&D Research. This includes maintaining
an internal and external relation network on optical design/prototyping.
• Support in transferring of the optical design into a mechanical
design
• Consults the system architect / project leader on all questions
regarding optical design
• Organizes prototyping of optical designs
• Acts as interface towards suppliers regarding optical design
Job Requirements
• Master or above degree in technical science with focus on optics
• Ideally more than 5 years of work experience on optcial design in
lighting industry
• Solid knowledge of optical design, optical simulation methods and
materials used in optical systems
• Solid experience in using optical design tools, for example TracePro
/LightTools/ASAP etc.
• Capable of designing/developing optical systems with LED’s.
• Basic knowledge on LED technology
• Basic knowledge on mechanical / thermal design
• Basic knowledge of project management
• Good communication capabilities
• Medium level English language skills required
• Strong focus towards execution excellence
• Shows determination and personal ownership
• Can work under varying stress levels, depending on the project
status.
