We are currently looking for a few Software Engineers to join our team in
San Jose, CA.
You will be working with the-state-of-art technologies; pushing the newest
servers, storage to their best performance by tuning OS/hardware in 40Gb/s
network, hundreds of 6Gb/s SSD (we target the best equipment on the market).
Our performance research will enable you to develop broad and cutting-edge
expertise in computer servers.
Duties and Responsibilities: The initial tasks will be various parts in
Linux kernel, IO, file system; research the hardware, OS, storage
performance and how to improve anything to improve system performance.
You will have chance to study various CPU architecture and storage system,
and significantly enhance your understanding of both software and hardware
details.
Research architectural trade-offs of hardware systems in the context of
scalable SOA deployments, especially as related to the memory hierarchy and
storage systems.
Propose and execute on innovations in hardware architecture based on their
benefits to large-scale applications.
Create new and useful IP, publish at conferences, and generate whitepapers
and specification documents.
Background / Experience Candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. MS or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an
excellent university with a competitive GPA.
2. Must have taken at least one computer architecture course and classes
in Data structure, OS, C/C++, Database, TCP/IP.
3. Familiarity with Unix Operating system such as Linux, know some basic
shell scripting, Python or Perl.
The following skills are nice-to-have:
1. Experience with in Linux kernel is a big plus, especially InfiniBand,
RDMA, file systems, storage, memory, I/O or drivers or other Linux Kernel
skills.
2. Experience with PostgreSQL or other DB
3. Ideally have high interests in increasing your ability in computer.
