Research Engineer-Polymers-Glass Laminating Solutions (MS/PHD)
Description

We develop and offer a range of high value polymer sheet products for
lamination with glass or other materials for use in markets such as
automotive and architectural windows as well as photovoltaic panels. We

winning team. The engineer will join our technology group located in
Wilmington, Delaware.
Responsibilities Include:
• Utilize engineering skills combined with understanding of
polymer chemistry and material properties to develop new and improved
products and/or manufacturing processes.
• Lead technical team in development of new products /
processes from conception through full commercialization.
• Network with a variety of sources (operations, technical
service, marketing, etc.) to identify and drive new improvement
opportunities.
Network within and outside of the company to leverage viable new
opportunities, such as through inter-business collaborations, university
partnerships, etc.
Qualifications
Required
• A PhD with postdoctoral experience, or MS with 3+ years relevant
employment experience beyond academia, in chemical engineering, polymer
engineering or materials engineering
• Proven ability to develop polymer products and appropriate
manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently
• Experience working on teams with challenging goals
• Hands on experimental and analytical skills
Preferred
• Experience includes polymer extrusion and converting processes
into films and sheets
• Demonstrated ability to work with and lead diverse cross-
functional teams
• Demonstrated project management skills from conception through
completion
• Ability to self-motivate, quickly develop skills and knowledge in
new area, and comfort working simultaneously on multiple programs | a***e
