Requirements:
overall validation process and can self-organize to perform tests, analysis
and investigations on a medical device. This person has strong follow-
through and completes the tests assigned to them in a timely way. They are
consistent and accurate when they perform Test Protocols and other
activities. They have strong verbal and written skills to report the results
of their work to others.
Core Duties and Skills:
- Strong Analytical skills
- Perform first-level trouble-shooting of failures, anomalies or defects in
a medical device
- Perform in-depth investigations into specific failures
- Perform ad hoc analysis of failures
- Strong Written and Verbal skills
- Documentation of Test Results
- Enter reports of failures, anomalies or defects into tracking tools
- Gather screenshots, logs, photos and other evidence of failures
- Create Graphs or Charts as necessary
- Organize and produce Test Reports
General Skills:
- Follow Validation Standard Operating Procedures
- General familiarity with embedded software, firmware, and electronic
devices. Medical devices strongly preferred.
- Read and understand Training and Standard Operating Procedures
- Read and understand a Test Protocol
- Accurately perform any setup or configuration steps for the Test Protocol
- Accurately perform Test Protocol steps
- Perform re-tests of software, firmware or hardware fixes and enter results
into tracking tools
Education and Experience
- At least 5 years experience as a Validation Engineer on an FDA medical
device with embedded software/firmware
- A college degree in a technology or sciences field is preferred.
- Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Computer Science is
strongly preferred.
