We seek exceptional postdoc scientists and one PhD student to work closely
with our research group on exciting research in architecture materials,
elastic/acoustic metamaterials for manipulating acoustic/elastic wave
propagation, mechanical energy and topological applications.
Essential Duties:
She/he will:
• Participate in leading-edge research involving dynamic
modeling of architecture or microstructure material for elastic/acoustic
wave steering and control;
• Modeling and characterization of modulated metamaterials and
degenerate materials;
• Develop active and passive metamaterial for non-reciprocal
wave propagation and topological insulators.
Required qualifications include:
PhD in an area related to structure dynamics, acoustic/elastic metamaterials
or a related field;
Solid background of solid mechanics, micromechanics, nonlinear and
multiscale modeling;
Expertise in ANSYS, COMSOL and other numerical simulations;
Experimental experience is a plus.
Application:
Review of applications will begin immediately until the positions are filled
. Interested individuals should send a detailed resume with names, addresses
, and telephone numbers of at least three reference to Prof. Guoliang Huang

University of Missouri:
The University of Missouri is a Tier I research institution and one of only
60 public and private U.S. universities invited to membership in the
prestigious Association of American Universities. MU has a world renowned
Veterinary Medicine College on the same campus as an innovative School of
Medicine and teaching hospital, the College of Business, School of Nursing,
School of Public Affairs, and the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural
Resources. The university was founded in 1839 in Columbia as the first
public university west of the Mississippi River. Located midway between St.
Louis and Kansas City, Columbia is a vibrant small city consistently ranked
among the top places to live in the United States. |
