On Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at approximately 7:15 p.m., a female student
was the victim of a battery in the 2200 block of xxx Avenue in xxx. The
student was walking south on the sidewalk when two men walking in the same
direction passed her. One of the men turned around suddenly, grabbed the
female student and began to punch her. She fought off the offender and was
able to knock him to the ground. The two men then walked northbound on xxx
Avenue, leaving the victim there.
The student declined medical treatment.
The suspect was described as a male African American, 18-25 years old, 5
feet 8 inches tall, weighing 160-170 pounds. He was wearing a cream-
colored coat with a gray stripe and a white winter hat. The second man was
described as a male African American, 18-25 years old, 5-7, 150 pounds,
wearing a dark coat and blue jeans.
