I saw some discussions here in this board on the Patent Agent (PA). Mostly
people are talking about Chem/Bio majors. How about engineering Ph.D.? And
can any friends in this board recommend a website to look for law firms that
are recruiting Patent Agent from Sci/Tech majors? Thanks a lot! |
r******g 发帖数: 8 | 2 I browsed the resumes of patent attorneys on the website of a few big
firms
the other day :P. A lot of them came from EE or CS background. So there
should
be positions for engineering PHDs if you are from these fields.

an Engineering PhD and want to do patent, congratulations.
I assume you haven't had the registration number with USPTO yet, so
technically you are not qualified as a patent agent. You will need to apply
for positions such technical specialist or technical advisor to get in.
The best way to find law firms? Google search "top IP firm" to find a
ranking list. Then google each firm and look at their career section. That's

m*******r 发帖数: 481 | 6 Thank you very much for all of your answers! Ironny and cuicuicui, so you
are from EE and now are patent attorney/agent? Are you Ph.D or just MS/BS in
EE? Will Ph.D. and its program ranking help? Or you already have JD now? I
am ME Ph.D. with BS and MS in Chemistry, green card application is pending (
I-485). I want to be a IP attorney in the long term. I want to have more
communications with you guys off the board (email?), if you like. Thank you
very much! |
