个生物相关的专
业（or, subjects): Biology, Biochemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Molecular
Biology. 并且要求必须与成绩单上所说的一致。下面还详细说明 Biological
Sciences不在认可
的专业之列。可怜的是我的本科和研究生的专业都是Biological Sciences。
说明里解释对于专业不在认可之列的，可以有其他选择来满足对科学和技术背景的要求
，即从本科课程
中生物，物理，化学的学时满足一定要求。这点可以达到，可是对于每一门课，还要求
当年详细的课程
说明；具体的要求如下：
The course descriptions must include:
Copies of the catalog cover page showing the year, the page(s)
describing the requirements for the major and
Complete pages describing the courses to be considered.
这个course descriptions根本就不可能拿到的呀！有没有类似背景的前辈顺利拿到考
试资格的？你
们是怎样做的呢？

two years of coursework) in engineering, computer sciences or the hard
sciences (chemistry, biology, physics, some related fields), you are
eligible to take the patent bar.
Correct me if I am wrong. |

restrict in one word difference (Biology v.s. Biological Sciences), even
through there isn't a difference at all. I guess I will give it a shot.

前辈,特别是feitian，您是这种情况吗？是只给成绩单就已经通过了 (无course
description)？没用任何别的文件说明这相当Category A的学位？成绩单是中英文都给
吗？我就希望confirm一下。
另外，USPTO处理您的考试申请一般多久后给回音呢？谢谢! |

发帖数: 2111 | 7 成绩单，就是你出国时申请学校用的就可以，英文,有学校公章。
成绩单上面有你的专业名称，并不要求和Catergory A里面列的一模一样，只要有个关
键字(bio, physics, chemistry, materials...)就好了，老美不是傻子，人会看你学
的课程。
一般2-3周收到答复。 |

the exam from USPTO. I didn't include any 'extra' material to prove my
eligibility, no list of courses, nor course description. Seems guys in the
patent office are reasonable. I am now preparing for the exam, and will come

OPT and working in industry in an engineer position?
It seems according to the bulletin one has to be supported by employer, does
the employer here means patent-law related employer? Does anyone here know
of any successful case of taking patent bar exam while not holding PR/
citizenship and not working in a law firm?

发帖数: 58 | 11 考过了！只遇到了最多十道旧题，每一道题目都花了好多的时间仔细考虑，感觉非常的
难，考的很细，有的的题目search了很久的MPEP也不一定找到答案，需要靠对patent
practice理解的基础上直接判断．整个考试过程很tough, 但还是过了，感觉自己可能
就是刚好考了７０％的吧：） 针对增补材料的题目不多，我只遇到了两道，而且很简
单．希望给正在准备考试的同学增加点信心吧！

发帖数: 58 | 22 从申请到approve好像用了2个星期, approval上写的清楚要在什么时间内考试. 其实就
是approval 发出的date几天后开始的三个月内要考掉.
在报名之前零零散散的看了些 pli 教程,后来发现效率太低,就报了名考试. 准备基本
就是在收到考试批准信后的三个月左右的时间里完成的. 基本过程就是: 先跟pli 过一
遍, 边做pli 的练习题. 然后用patware做三个小时一次的练习, 然后仔细总结, 查
mpep, 看&听pli相关章节,直到把patware里的几套作完. 类似的做法把 2001-2003 的
题目 go through 后,时间就差不多了, 记得最后一套题目是考前一天晚上下班后做完
的,然后就大概看了一下 pli 的 advice 部分, 第二天就去考试了.
用了pli, mypatentbar.com, 有iphone/ipod/ipad的同学还可以买一个patentbar的
apps, 空闲的时间可以做做题目. good luck to all of us!
