under Ubuntu 64-bit? Mplayer has the codecs for 32 bit that they do not
work under 64-bit. Is there a reliable way to get them working in 64-bit,
or there are 64-bit codecs hidden somewhere?
I got ppstream plug-in under totem (Ubuntu 8.04), but cannot play the rmvb
format?

I have tried:
1. get the codec "essential-amd64" and placed them in /usr/lib/codecs /usr/
local/lib/codecs /usr/local/lib/win32.
2. Use totem-xine. with the 64 bit codecs it plays the rmvb files, but I need totem-gstream to play ppstream.
3. installed Realplayer and it plays rmbv files fine.
I still need totem to play rmvb and wmv files to use ppstream plugin. How
may I get there? Thanks!

mencoder, codec，最后还是没32位的全，但多弄了一些。 |

发帖数: 81 | 6 为了让LD乐于用LINUX，pps是必须的啊。totem的ppstream plug-in还挺好的。64bit应
该不是问题啊。

I tend to believe that Ubuntu 8.04 does not have a workable totem-gst, which
does not use any codec in /usr/lib/codecs. I am changing to 9.04 32-bit...
