Echo Mountain更确切一点。
另外，为什么要在晚上爬山？晚上不安全，看不清路。

发帖数: 2672 | 5 Thanks, I was thinking whether or not to add Inspiration Point, I decided to add it since it will avoid all the crowed going to Echo Mountain in addition to a better work out. From Inspiration point
there's an option of taking the fire road back to the car which is a bonus ;)
I like the night view with the quiet and peacefulness of the mountain, the trail up is pretty established and I am familiar with the terrain, so the reward is much greater than the risks.
Besides, its dangerous to most because people are not used to hiking at
night, I am training myself to get used hiking at night and I think I'm
doing better and better! :)

northeast wind around 10 mph.

发帖数: 2672 | 11 Came back from the hike. 9 miles, 2750 ft elev gain.
Took the firebreak and connect the Mt Lowe road to Inspiration Point and
came back down on Castle Canyon to Echo Mountain.
It was cold and windy, but having the whole mountain by myself is priceless.

. and Wed. For Triplet Rocks, I'd rather do it in summer time to have more
day light hours. What do you think?

发帖数: 2672 | 13 Having more day light hours is better, but with summer's heat, you need to
bring more water than doing it during it in winter. Last time I drank a
little more than 6 liter, so you might need 8 or 9 liter during summer time.
Well, I really don't know, I just know I still regret turning back when I
was 30 minutes away! shoooot
It will take us at least 12 hours to do the 3-miles ridge twice and we don't
really have 12 hours, if you take safely as #1, then do it in the summer.
For me, there's a always a trade off between finish my goal and safely, in
this case, I am more on the side of former.

发帖数: 2672 | 14 What we can do is that we can plan to staying the night on the ridge but
still try our best to make it back to Twin Peaks before sun sets (once you
are back to Twin Peaks there is trail)
The good news is that as the ridge get closer to Twin Peaks, it is in better
condition and less scrambling and climbing involved.
The bad news is I don't know how long it will us take to do the last part
where I turned back where you must drop down to a gully then scramble up.
It took Ze a little more than an hour, , I'd say it will us take 2.
If we are not doing Triplet Rocks, then I am thinking to do Iron Mountain
with Soutwest Ridge. I'm still checking on the route and I believe this is
where Pifu's incident occurred so I need to be carefully on the route.

发帖数: 2672 | 15 Ze took this picture near the summit, of the gully where I turned back. You drop down from the big rock to the center northwest to the brushes, then scramble up to summit. It is very steep, handhold is awkward. This is the most difficult part of the ridge besides the climbing. |
