发帖数: 257 | 24 给要去的同学提个醒。如果从Sawtooth Pass 上的话，一定要原路返回Sawtooth Pass
下山。那天我们想抄近路下山，被卡在半山上下不得，折腾老半天才下到山脚，回到
trail head 已经9点多了。同去的两个人以前都上去过，还搞成这样，很诡异。
Trail Head 的牌子上有一句：Create an inviting but chilly destination for
hikers and backpackers。 我深有体会。

会拍到，羡慕中！！！！！！

Parking lot at the trail head is a favorite feeding spot for them. They'd
crawl up under the vehicle and chew electrical wiring&radiator hoses. Ranger
suggested to check brakes once we are back to the car. I saw someone left
his car hood open.. it's like 'be my guest'.. at least that way he can see
what the real damage is..

"As a word of caution, the Mineral King area and the trailhead has severe
marmot problem. Control of these critters has been limited by the Park
Service. they recommend that you take protective measures for your vehicle (
short of lacing food with poison!). There have been incidents in the past
where marmots have chewed through radiator hoses and cables, thus disabling
them! One lucky marmot was able to hitch a ride.....all the way to L.A.!!! "
