active on the recruiting trail and able to improve the Bruins' 2012 class.
Recent key pickups in athlete Devin Fuller (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley
Regional), defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy (Monrovia, Calif./Monrovia) and
quarterback T.J. Millweard (Fort Worth, Texas/All Saints Episcopal) have
helped push UCLA's class into the top 25. Fuller is a dual-threat QB more
than capable of remaining under center at the next level if in the right
scheme. If he does not play QB, he will likely end up at safety. A former
Cal commit, McCarthy gives UCLA a big D-tackle who can create pressure and
help a defense that ranked 112th in sacks this season. Former Arizona State
commit Millweard is a good athlete with a big arm. Other fairly recent
pickups who have helped strengthen this class include four-star cornerback
Ishmael Adams (Westlake Village, Calif./Oaks Christian) and high three-star
corner Marcus Rios (Elk Grove, Calif./Cosumnes Oaks).
