发帖数: 25759 | 1 哈哈，标题党一把。To be exact, I was at Lake Arrowhead, a
few miles west of Big Bear Lake, and that was a few weeks
ago, before the whole world got the faintest idea who the
heck Christopher Jordan Dorner was.
Anyway, on that fine Sunday morning, after a recent snow
blanketed the mountaintop with fresh white powder, I decided
to take my daughter to the higher elevations for a taste of
real winter. Two of her favorite activities at Lake Arrowhead
are feeding the ducks that have made hanging around the
tourists a very profitable industry and trying to spot the little
fish zooming around in the clear water between the ducks.
On that day, the ducks were all on duty as usual, but the fish
were nowhere to be found. Always being the inquisitive type,
naturally my daughter raised the issue in no time: "Where have
all the fishes gone?" (You can excuse a four-year-old for
messing up the plural for fish, can't you?)
Well…after a few rounds of back-and-forth bantering between
the four-year-old and a four-year-old at heart, we successfully
turned that innocent little question into an innocent little song,
to the tune of the famed 1960 anti-war anthem, "Where Have
All the Flowers Gone."
