Position: Senior CFD Software Developer for Multiphase Technology
Location: Mountain View, CA
Job Description:
We are looking for an expert in the development of simulation software for
multiphase flows. We are a team of highly-motivated CFD professionals. This
is an opportunity to join AcuSolve's core development team in Silicon Valley
California and play a significant role in the development of Altair's next-
generation multiphase technology.
Altair AcuSolve is a leading general-purpose Computational Fluid Dynamics (
CFD) solver that is capable of solving the most demanding industrial and
scientific applications. Based on the Finite Element method, AcuSolve’s
robust and scalable solver technology empowers users by providing
unparalleled accuracy on fully unstructured meshes. Applications ranging
from steady RANS simulations to complex, transient, multiphysics simulations
are handled with ease and accuracy.
Please note: This is not a modeler or end user role.
Responsibilities
Develop multiphase physics in AcuSolve, including immiscible fluids,
dispersed fields, Euler models, chemical reaction, diffusion models, etc.
Expand the functionality and enhance the performance of current multiphase
physics in AcuSolve, including surface tension and contact angle models,
mixture models, various diffusion relations, Euler models, etc.
Enhance the usability of current multiphase models
Develop and maintain QA tests for multiphase models
Document multiphase models
Perform third level support, particularly in regards to multiphase
technology
Participate in general code developments, spec writing, code review, and
other development tasks related to AcuSolve
Required Skills
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or similar engineering
Deep understanding of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Deep understanding of multiphase modeling
Expertise in numerical analysis and scientific computing
Familiar with Finite Element Method (FEM)
5+ years of developing CFD codes
2+ years of commercial code development in C/Fortran
3+ years of developing multiphase technology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Willing to relocate to Mountain View California

multiphase capability in AcuSolve. We are a team of highly-motivated CFD
professionals. This is an opportunity to join AcuSolve's core development
team in Silicon Valley California and play a significant role in the
development of Altair's next-generation multiphase technology.

· Direct the multiphase technology development, including immiscible

· Participate in all aspects of development of multiphase physics,
including design, mathematical analysis, coding, Q/A, documentation and
third level support.
· Enhance the usability of current multiphase models.
· Participate in general code developments, spec writing, code review
, and other development tasks related to AcuSolve.
Required Skills
· Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, aerospace or similar engineering
· Deep understanding of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
· Deep understanding of multiphase modeling

· 10+ years of developing CFD codes
