发帖数: 2428 | 6 Are you kidding me? Ever heard about the Kremer prize? The Daedelus of the MIT
flow 115km in the late 80's. The Gossamer Albatros flow over the English
Channel in the late 70's. Gossamer Condor flow the first figure eight in the
mid 70's. There is an annul event in Japan that several Japanese College has
this HPA competition. Never heard they achived anything significant though.

airport. Actually, they are not the only three that did that. HPA has more
than half a centry successful fly history. If it is a HPA, it has to take off
by itself, otherwise it is not qualified as HPA. Google "human powered
airplane" you will find them all out.
And the Jap college student did not take off from land. The event was usually
held by the sea. They set up a platform about 20 to 30 feed above the sea
level and then

it seems that Japanese has a high interest on HPA. Hope they can build a plane
and surpass Daedalus. I did a case study about HPA in Beijing before.
Unfortunately the library does not have many japanese reference. I did see
some program from Discovery Channel. From there I learn that there is a annual
event of HPA in Japan and it is uaually held the way I discriped before.
