。 Dr. Alan Cheung 的名字是其中选择之一。 我们提议支持用Dr. Alan Cheung命名
的新中学的倡议书已经有1000多个签名了。每个成年人都可签名。我们希望下周就可以
将所有的签名送到蒙郡教育局，以便他们决定。可能三月初就会有结果了。现在有另一
个竞争提议,签名人数有赶上我们的可能。 所以恳请大家大力支持, 签名争取我们应得
的！ 也请大家广为传播。
如果张博士真的获命名，这应该是马里兰1424间公校里第一间华人命名的学校。可能全
美都没几家。

Dr. Alan Cheung is the first Asian American elected to the Board of
Education in Montgomery County and the first member from an ethnic minority
to serve as the President of the Board. In his eight years as a Board member
, he was a strong advocate for all students, and emphasized individualized
learning, additional science and technology in schools, and smaller class
size. Dr. Cheung made significant contributions to education in Montgomery
County and has been instrumental in bringing the Asian American community
into the county's political and civic mainstream. He serves as a worthy role
model to Asian American students, parents, and the larger community in
Montgomery County. |
