may apply this year and pass CS before February. However some programs
require CS for IMGs.
With a failed CS the chance for match is slim. By January (get the new CS
result) most interview invites will be long gone. |

considering your money, you may try your home program and pgm around where
you live. By doing this you may get some experience, unfortunately my
prediction of the ultimate results are as the same as eric. Based on my
searching, ~>80-90% pgm require IMG to have ECFMG certificate at application

发帖数: 1334 | 9 To participate in NRMP 2010 match, any IMGs must pass CS by the rank order list deadline, which is February 24, 2010.
Some programs may be a little picky, ask the candidates to have an ECFMG certificate before that date, for example, before January 1. I havn't done a statistical study on this so I don't know how many programs require the certificate at application.

I failed CS in Oct. --> retook it in mid Nov, --> got IV's in Dec/Jan, -->
knew I passed in Jan, --> matched in Mar.
Need ECFMG cert for match? Not true at least before this year. You dont need
a cert to take part in NRMP and even for match day. That was my case.
Certified in NRMP is not the same thing as being certified in ECFMG. I know
it's confusing but i m not going to spend more time on this.

NRMP, but by many programs. I already corrected my mistake.
IMGs must pass all examinations required for ECFMG certificate, i.e. Step 1
and Step2 (CK and CS), to participate in 2010 NRMP match.
