accepted into the Neurology program, the prelim year is guaranteed in UF.
This is what they wrote in the invitation letter: "Internal Medicine has a
fully accredited residency program and will reserve PGY-1 positions for
qualified Neurology applicants. Unless you have made arrangements to take
your PGY-1 year elsewhere, you should apply to the Internal Medicine program
at UF." |

sentence "The Department of Medicine will inform us
whether they would accept you as a PGY-1 resident contingent on your
matching at UF in Neurology." So, there will be no guarantee, just increased
chance. Plus, I need visa, so I can not apply for their PGY-1 anyways. By
the way, have you scheduled with them? What date? Thanks in advance. |

have a lot of IMG there including CMGs, that is why I was also selected.
Since this is the only one prelim IM IV for me, I have to prepare well to

patient population is diverse due to its location.

programs that I applied. I did get ~ 5 response that they received my e-mail
. One transitional and one Neuro did give me IV. So I guess it does help a
little. Although it is a pain to e-mail/call. Right now soemone are
cancelling previous IV. So it is time to contact program. |

The longest interview I believe. IV starts from Thursday afternoon and ends
in Friday afternoon. First day, PD gave a presentation then hospital tour
and then talked to chiefs. At night went to resteraut for dinner with other
residents. The next day, breakfest and grand rounds followed by 3 ivs in the
morning and 2 in the afternoon. Lunch with residents and faculties. Very
good food. Cover hotel expense and shuttle service to hosptial and airport.

thing is security, but bad thing is that usually the prelim is a small
community hospital so the teaching quality and workload are not ideal.
However, if you can get into a categorical neuro program, you have much
better PGY-1. based on the IV number of your guys, you most likely go to a
categorical one, so what you have to do is waiting with patience. That is
all you need. |

especially with need for H1 visa. I only got one IV for this, that is why I
said I am very very lucky. You will be fine at the end because categorical
neuro is the best choice, for IMGs like us. I have sent you two e-mails,
